December 2006 PHOTOS
The current SCC Library closes on December 7. Workers begin moving the book collection from the current library to the new library. Humanities faculty and Library staff begin moving into the new building.

Late November 2006 PHOTOS
New shelving is installed in the new building. Furniture is being delivered for offices. The periodical collection is boxed and ready to move. The mobile periodical shelving is dismantled and ready to move from the old library to the new library.

November 2006 PHOTOS
The library circulation desk, information desk and student computer research tables are being installed. There is a great deal of activity in the building as finishing touches are added in preparation for moving into the building in mid December.

Late October 2006 PHOTOS
Workers continue painting, being installing floor tile, carpet, doors, and other interior items during the last weeks of October. Furniture for the building is on order and planning for moving from the current building to the new building in mid December are well underway.

Workers begin installing wiring, ceilings and light fixtures in the interior of the new building.

September 2006 PHOTOS
The interior of the building continues to change as workers begin to finish installing the sheetrock in both the library and on the 2nd floor of the building. Some sidewalks have been poured and workers start enclosing the student entrance to the 2nd floor.  

August 2006 PHOTOS
The excitement about the new building builds this month. The beautiful exterior of the building can been seen as workers complete the brickwork on the outside of the building. Workers continue the job of installing the roof during the long hot days of August.  Changes to the interior of the building are evident  as insulation is put in place and workers install sheetrock in most office and classroom locations.

Brickwork is almost complete on the outside of the building. The interior of the building continues to take shape as framing of rooms moves forward. Workers continue to install the heating/air and electrical infrastructure. Work also continues on the roof of the building during this month.

The Library Advisory Committee gets the first tour of the inside of the new building.

May 2006 PHOTOS
Work on the interior of the building continues this month. The location of various offices, classrooms and the main library space begin to be seen. Heating and air ductwork is being added this month. Workers start bricking the exterior of the building.

The building design takes shape as workers continue to construct the steel structure this month.

Work on the concrete base for the foundation continues this month. A crane has been moved to the site as the next phase of construction is set to begin.

Work on foundation continues and the first pouring of concrete for the building occurs the last day of February.

Grading continues and construction of the foundation of the new Academic/Library building begins.

The parking lot in front of the current library building is removed and a new parking lot is created.
