Fall 2007 Tyger River Campus Library Services Begin

In Fall 2006 the college expanded to a satellite location at the Tyger River Campus on Highway 290 in Duncan. The library experimented with an innovative approach to library services in Fall 2007. 2 dedicated computer workstations with webcams and telephone access were placed in the multi-purpose Library & Student Center area of the campus to provide students access to the library catalog, databases, Ask-a-Librarian Service and staff at the Central Campus Library.

In the Summer of 2008 a Library Specialist was hired for the Tyger River Campus. This position is unique in that it serves not only the library but provides tutoring services as well as serving as the site monitor for distance learning classes. Additional computer workstations, reference materials and fiction books have been added to the Tyger River Campus Library library. Long range plans are to move the library into a separate location, extend library hours, provide additional shelving for a books and periodicals and add additional workstations.
