1980-1981

In Fall of 1980, the Library moved to its present location in the newly constructed Tracy Gaines building.

Two additions to the college campus were completed Fall, 1980.  The Tracy J. Gaines Building consists of 32,000 square feet and houses the library, media center, bookstore, shipping and receiving, several classrooms, and a 300 seat auditorium.  The Industrial Training Facility contains 20,000 square feet and houses Welding/Pipefitting and a new curriculum, Diesel Mechanics.

1983-84

Spartanburg TEC's new library facilities were designed to shelve over 35,000 volumes.  Individual study carrels and a conference room are available for library use. Over 11,616 square feet of floor space are allocated to library functions.

    The library subscribes to over 325 periodicals and daily newspapers. A balanced collection of books, including general works in addition to technical and professional, is maintained. A reference collection is included.
