In March 1969, a multi-purpose building, now known as the West Building, was completed. This facility included a new library wing capable of housing over 30,000 volumes, additional classrooms, laboratories, offices and a computer complex.
The campus engineering fraternity, Alpha Mu Sigma, helped transfer the Library's books into its location in the new building.

Once the Library was moved in and reopened , the students, faculty and staff soon discovered how much additional room the Library now had.

Wade L. Shipman was serving as the Librarian at this time. He was very happy to be in his new home.

By 1976, Ms. McCarter, Ms. Brantley, and Ms. Widdicombe had departed, and Nell Ford had taken over as Library Assistant.

With the tremendous growth of the college and the increasing need for classrooms, it was not long before the Library needed a new home.
