How to Print Power
Point Slides in WebCT |
Special Note - If you open a PowerPoint presentation and hit "print" you will print one slide at a time...a waste of paper and ink!
Below are instructions on how to print PowerPoint presentations:
#1 Open up the PowerPoint presentation
#2 Select File-Print. The Print Screen will appear.
#3 On the lefthand side of the Print Screen, near the bottom, there is a dropdown box entitled "print what." Select either "handouts" or "outline view." If the presentation is all text, Outline view is the best choice (Easy to read--just gives the text and an ink saver). Depending on how much text is on each slide, you can print anywhere from 6-8 slides on a page.
If you select "handouts" you
have the option of choosing how many handouts per page (the choices are
1,2,3,4, 6 and 9).
6 handouts per page is the default setting. With this option, 67 slides
take up 12 pages.
If the presentation is all text, outline view is the easiest to follow (the notes start at the top of the page and go down--like we are used to reading). It also seems to use less ink (if the slides have a blue background--"handouts" will print dark slides with white print). With the "handouts" the actual slides are on the page--harder to follow if reading text, but useful if there are illustrations that are needed. Please note - pictures and illustrations don't print in "outline" view.
