Citing Ebooks |
When you have the ebook open, there is a red tab called "econtent details" that will give you information such as title of book, author, publication information that you need for the Works Cited or Reference Page. This tab is located on the left side of the page next to a lot of other red tabs.
Unfortunately, there isn't a "how to cite" link in
eBooks that will put it in citation format for you.
However, if you are using MLA format, use the following
as a guide:
Netlibrary Ebook
Author's last name, first name. Title of Book. Ed. Name
of Editor. City of Publication: Publisher, Year.
NetLibrary. OCLC. Spartanburg Technical
Coll. Lib. Day Month Year of access.
Example:
Shakespeare, William. As You Like It. Champaign: Project
Gutenberg. NetLibrary. OCLC. Spartanburg Technical Coll.
Lib. 2 Nov. 2000.
(note - be sure to double space and indent the 2nd and
3rd lines 5 spaces--that formatting is not reflected
here)
This example is from the library's MLA handout which you
can find at
http://library.sccsc.edu/handouts/mla_formats.htm
Please use ask-a-librarian
if you need to cite an ebook in a format other than MLA
(such as APA)
